Spring is a time for a carnival. Winter turns first into spring, then into summer, and then the year’s work is done. To celebrate this Gradia, Jyväskylä Educational Consortium organized an event called International Carnival for the personnel working with international issues in Vocational Education and Training. Gradia’s students were also strongly involved in this event.
The annual International days for Vocational Education were organized in Jyväskylä on 6th and 7th May. This two-day spring event attracted many vocational educational organisers.
The event had three themes:
- Internationality in the new vocational education
- Global skills needs and expectations of international companies
- Cooperation between different levels of education
Omnia vocational education was represented by the Expert of international activities Mr. Mika Heino and Senior Lecturer of Food Production Mrs. Oona Haapakorpi. Mika Heino is the Project Manager in CORE project among other things. In CORE project he makes sure that the project meets its objectives. Oona Haapakorpi is in charge of the professional content of CORE project.
Mrs Katarina Sandbacka, the Manager of International Affairs in Vamia, Vaasa, also took part in the event.
